Should Pakistan put its founding fathers on its currency?

The currencies that dominate the world…

There are hundreds of currencies on this planet, yet only a handful of them truly dominate the market.

The likes are US Dollar, British Pound, Canadian Dollar, Japanese Yen, Australian Dollar, New Zealand Dollar, and Euro.

Most trading is currently being conducted upon the promise of payment in these currencies.

Since these are the dominant currencies with proper security protocols and governmental backing, they’re trusted more than others.

But there’s another unique feature that defines these currencies into various aspects.

That feature is that a vast majority of them feature either the governing bodies or the founding figures on their currencies as a show of strength and unity.

However, Pakistan doesn’t have such a program in place at all!

When an overseas Pakistani is asked about their background, they’re usually befuddled or confused as to what answer to give to the query….

Most just say “Quaid e Azam” because he’s the most prominent personality – and for good measure too!

But he’s not the only one by a far measure.

There are giants like Allama Iqbal, Allama Muhammad Assad (Leopold Weiss), Nawabzada Liaqet Ali Khan, and Fatima Jinnah.

These are the personalities that were critical in the ideological forming and later literal founding of Pakistan.

However, a more controversial take on this issue is the presence of some of our leaders who had led us through very difficult circumstances like Gen. Ayub Khan and Gen. Pervez Musharraf.

The ones we can’t put on any notes are the likes of Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto, Gen. Zia-ul-Haq, Nawaz Sharif, and Benazir Bhutto.

Simply because of a very controversial and destructive stance towards Pakistan.

There are other heroes that we should be paying homage to as well, the likes of Rashid Minhas, Shabbir Sharif, Major Aziz Bhatti, or “Kernail” Sher Khan.

Then how do we solve the dilemma of introducing our leaders to the world?

The answer may seem a little simple, but it’s quite a monumental task to achieve.

The simplicity lies in the fact that we can strictly rule out any “heroes” with dubious roles or past history and only concentrate on the ones who sacrificed the most and gained the eternal respect of the Pakistani nation.

As such our work is really cut out for us, we can at least do our heroes service and give them their rightful place on the Pakistani Rupee.

Who can be on the Pakistani Rupee note?

I’m glad you asked!

A possible combination of a Rs. 5, Rs. 10, Rs. 20, Rs. 50, Rs. 100, Rs. 1000, Rs. 5000 can be as follows:

  • Rs. 5: Allama Muhammad Assad
  • Rs. 10: Liaqet Ali Khan
  • Rs. 20: Fatima Jinnah
  • Rs. 50: Quaid e Azam
  • Rs. 100: Allama Iqbal

To be honest, the Rs. 1000, and Rs. 5000 notes should be discontinued because they’re a liability and a symbol of drainage of the economy. But if some of you have creative ideas, we’re open to hearing from you about it, put down your thoughts in the comment section below:

Before you do though, here are some rules:

  • The hero has to directly correlate to Pakistani history: only positive contributions count
  • They can’t have a role that’s too controversial for everyone to accept
  • They can’t have strong political or religious affiliations
  • No political or democratic leaders will be accepted
  • No militaristic or dictatorial leaders will be accepted
  • You can’t have any heroes from a history that are unrelated to Pakistan or goes back more than 150 years into the past
  • They can be a public figure but again not related to any political or religious affiliation that hinders the outreach of the constitution of Islamic Rebuplic of Pakistan

Go ham!

The Kashmir Saga

World has speculated, it has been horrified and it has witnessed India and Pakistan reaching at each other’s throats throughout the history of their existence as neighbors, solely for the dispute over the scenic Valley near the Himalayan mountain ranges, the Valley of Kashmir. By its appearance, the conflict still lingers, at times it has lurked in shadow as back-burner, other times it has triggered violent confrontation and the infamous rivalry of India and Pakistan. The year that has gone by will be remembered for reigniting the tensions inside the Indian-occupied Kashmir, which consequently intensified aggression between the two neighbors. From United Nations General Assembly one on one between Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Pakistan’s Ambassador to United Nations Maleeha Lodhi’s blowing reply to Indian Minister for External Affairs Sushma Swaraj, it was a year full of political upturns. However, the political face off was swiftly shifted to cultural and social onslaught when Indian Hindu fundamentalism took to the front, and vehemently declared a ban on Pakistani artists working in showbiz in India, which highlighted the depth of Hindu fanaticism clawed into the social fabric of Indian society. The Indian allegations of Pakistan’s incitement of Kashmiri uprisings, and subsequent attack on an Army camp in Uri paved the way for an all time low in the Indo Pakistan equation. It was met with the debatable and questionable “surgical strike” phenomena which seem to have fancied and fan-girled Indian people to a great degree.

As a matter of fact, India has emerged to become a rapidly radicalizing society, where television news shows broadcast their programs to feed on the mounting tensions, provoke their audience to endorse hate speech and war mongering to Bollywood industry out of its fear of Hindu fanatics boycotts cultural exchange with neighboring Pakistan. The Indian strategy to suppress the demand of Kashmiri people has shown multiple colors and has adopted many shapes, however, military action still finds its way through the non-military strategies India has utilized to counter the Kashmiri freedom struggle, which lays bare the conviction, the earnestness that the Kashmiri sentiments of liberation beholds in the face of seven decades of suppression.

On a personal note, I still remember my grandfather narrating me stories of their visit to Srinagar during his early days of marriage, unarguably an ideal romantic place for a newly wedded couple. The beauty of Kashmir’s Dal Lake with curtain-covered tourist boats offering boat-rides was always his favorite part to describe. I still recall his gleaming eyes reflecting memories of his eight years summer time vacationing in Srinagar.

The most interesting and the most fearful of the twists have entered into the Indo-Pakistan equation with the entrance of unpredictability into the white house this year. The unpredictability of the Trump presidency, his immediate immigration ban on Muslims and his explicit call to associate his fight against terrorism with fight against Islam, affirms an expected change in foreign policy towards South Asia, and more prominently the two nuclear rivals. The noticeable domination of Indian narrative in the Capitol Hill and Congress circles reinstates that Pakistan is expected to have a rough ride with the new Republican administration in white House. Donald Trump’s departure from America’s traditional and constitutional practices would be challenge for the foreign policy endeavors he will undertake, especially with Muslim-specific influence over his policies; there is an evident downslide for the question of Kashmiri freedom struggle. During Indo-Pakistan confrontational moments, United States has remained a silent spectator or other times, Washington D.C. has issued official statements leaving the matter for bilateral engagement. However, with the new, “unpredictable” and “unusual” administration in the Washington, the likelihood of a change in policy is high.

With two of the Indian members already inducted into the Trump’s administration and one of the largest expatriate community in United States, Indian influence in American politics has saved it while human rights violations in Kashmir had been rampant, use of pellet guns on children and massive anti-India protests. Ajit Pai, is senior level Indian American in Trump’s administration, following Nikki Haley, nominated US ambassador to UN (a cabinet-rank position); Seema Verma, head of medicare and medicaid; and Preet Bharara, US attorney for the southern District of New York.

Nonetheless, the existence of Kashmir Valley as a disputed land cannot be brushed away; the Line of Control between the Indian occupied Jammu & Kashmir and Pakistan’s Azad Kashmir is still a non-permanent border, internationally recognized disputed territory, to which end United Nations has already passed resolutions for India to hold to a plebiscite. The multiple unresolved disputes, especially Kashmir, the likelihood of terrorist incidents and a nuclear threat triggered through military environment, has made the India-Pakistan deadlock the only greatest danger to international peace and security. New Delhi’s submission for domineering power status could be hurriedly compromised if another war broke out, by plan or mistake, with Pakistan.

Nevertheless, the Kashmiri freedom struggle has surpassed the worse and rejoiced its identity when speculations of its lost motivations became famous, it has survived through generations, and Kashmir has redefined the phrase: “what doesn’t break you makes you stronger”.

Global Radicalization to counter Islamic Radicalization?

Michelle Obama said in her final speech as first lady: “Our glorious diversity is our faiths, our colours, our creeds. That is not a threat to who we are; it makes us who we are”

The world is undergoing difficulty digesting the reality, there is a large majority of Muslims readily becoming more conscious of their image, which is helping them shape a new world for their existence by questioning their own kin. However, on the other hand a large majority of thousands and millions of people lead by pre-dominantly radicalized leadership are leading NATIONS without division into reactive radicalization, against the Muslim population without assessing the differences among them, the rising rift between the handful of practically “disowned” Muslim terrorists and larger majority of unrecognized Muslim victims and sufferers. It is ironic that nations like Syria, Pakistan, Turkey, Iraq are fighting within their own national boundaries violent battle against the radicalization, which is both at the ideological and physical grounds.

Is this where world is moving towards? Suggesting to counter extremism, religious fanaticism by becoming a fanatic? – Assessing by the nature of the said analogy, the result of such strategy would be counterproductive, resulting in a world full of fanatics, running wild to kill one another. If the world has to judge Muslims by the acts of a few than it would be equivalent to: India is a country of rapists or America is the country of gun violence, ignoring the fact that nations cannot be branded over actions of the few.

When countries fight extremism at national level, it is witnessed that they are deliberate and conscious of dealing it with two contrasting strategies, while there is counter strategy to curb terrorism through military, on the other hand there is a softer, a diplomatic strategy to counter extremism that is the root-cause of terrorism.

By the virtue of basic knowledge, which is expected of leadership, it is evident that proclamations aimed at causing polarization in the world is the formula for fanning and feeding the extremism. Nation-branding, religious and racial discrimination presented as a solution to counter the prevalent global problem is only the work of a closed-mind, work of someone who is ignorant, incapable of understanding the dynamics of political deliverance, in the nutshell, this is someone unfit for securing executive position, let alone member of an administrative staff.

If extremism is the solution to extremism, then the terrorists have won already. If they were in favour of Muslims of the world then they would not place them in a position of suffering, they wouldn’t cause them criticism victimization. It is the generic anatomy of the terrorists to produce a situation where the world becomes hostage to their presence, their activities. It is rather interesting and unfortunate, whenever a terrorist attack occurs, Muslims are taken over by the fear of being judged and questioned for their identity, and on the other hand non-Muslims are taken over by fear of Muslims for being the cause of the attack. The common factor here is indisputably the phenomenon of fear, which is THE objective of the terrorists. According to research conducted by various quarters, following are the average goals of terrorist groups:

  • To spread FEAR among the population
  • To become relevant in the global politics
  • To garner support from certain community who they proclaim to be fighting for
  • To make headlines by carrying significant actions, attacking monumental places

It is quite evident that the basic motives of terrorist groups around the world are quite similar; therefore, this homogeneity of purpose should be utilized as a platform for unity among the victims of terrorist in order to form a counter terrorism strategy.

How to deal with terrorism?

Numerous studies relating to terrorism have suggested that there are direct psychological effects of terrorism on the individuals from all around the world. It is unfortunate that Donald Trump’s new immigration policy based on global polarization and radicalization would do little to improve the situation. Donald Trump’s aggressively rigid policy for countering terrorism is already producing negative impact, causing him criticism and protests inside United States and globally. On the contrary, to take a lead from where Obama presidency came to an end, he could initiate a more globally inclusive policy as far as countering terrorism in concerned.

  • Forming a global alliance for countering terrorism, including local Muslim population alongside the leadership.
  • One of the few Obama talents was his communication skills, Mr. Trump would have been appreciated more than the criticism coming his way for being vocal about his globally inclusive policy.
  • Taking advantage of Muslim population growing weary of their racial branding by bringing them in the fold of global counter terrorism policy
  • Focus on countering terrorism rather countering cultural beliefs. USA growing more accepting towards to non western cultures, which would help USA changing the perception of the country in larger Muslim population.

This is rather naïve to expect peace by holding “no entry” signs in your hands. Logic dies indeed, from where Trump leads.

5 benefits of having critical thinking skills

developing your critical thinking skills

How critical thinking needs to pervade our lives

Critical thinking, its benefits and why it has become a necessity

Often times we think about critical thinking as some far off concept that cannot ever be understood by the average person.

100% of the times we’re wrong about this concept and often put it off because it “seems” difficult.

100% of the time, critical thinking is much easier to do than you think.

But it involves some work on your part.

It’s like a coffee table from Ikea furniture store: you buy the whole coffee table and the benefits that come with it, but some assembly is required on your part.

Here are 5 benefits of having critical thinking skills and what they can do to further improve your lifestyle:

1) You’ll be able to measure things that matter the most

This has to be the most obvious benefit of the said strategy…

The way you think about things and why you need to measure a few of them becomes glaringly obvious when you take their impact on your life into account.

For instance, how many push ups you were able to do today vs. how many you did yesterday may seem like a trivial matter.

But compounded over time, you’ll come to realize that you measuring your push ups each day will aid you in making informed decisions about your health.

Conversely, not doing so will keep you in a state of guesswork and confusion.

The choice to develop your critical thinking skills is so lopsided in its favor that it’s hard to ignore such a wonderful strategy for your daily activities.

Building on the example of exercising every day…you can also measure the amount of money you have in your bank account.

So that you don’t get any nasty surprises the next time you check your account. You’ll have to measure these things each day.

You don’t have to become a money-obsessed goblin-like creature, but you DO have to think critically about where to invest your money for maximum returns.

You can literally apply this concept anywhere in your life.

We find this approach to be particularly useful when attempting to change a certain aspect of one’s life on a permanent basis.

2) You’ll learn to preload your movements and focus viscerally on your goals more often

The best gift you can give yourself is to be able to critically think about a situation and develop a response about that situation within mere seconds.

Often times, these situations require deep thinking skills, and you should be able to develop these given enough time and practice.

The more you practice to think about your goals in a creative way, the more you’ll be able to think critically (and deeper) about them.

You don’t have to be a genius to figure out what foods to eat to keep yourself healthy and disease free.

But you DO have to put in the work to become healthier every day.

3)  Seeing alternative and easier routes becomes almost second nature to you

The more critical thinking skills you develop the more you’ll be able to see problems and their solutions.

You will be more eager to solve these problems rather than shutting yourself out of a possible opportunity to make your life better.

There’s absolutely nothing wrong with wanting more from life, hence, you also have to understand what you NEED to do in order to get to where you want to be.

The only real way of doing this is to develop your critical thinking skills in a manner that is most effective and is faster than other more slower methods.

Seeing easier routes and being able to solve your problems faster is a true gift of intelligence!

Hence, not wanting to develop your critical thinking skills is the collective suicide of the mind and physical well-being of the body.

4) Critical thinking skills can grant you some level of oversight in some very limited cases

Oversight is not the best thing for you when you’re looking to launch your business or become healthy.

But you do need to realize that developing the said skills will allow you a lot of leverage over your own life.

Having done so will allow you some oversight over very limited cases.

Such as thinking about what your peers will do next, what your parents and siblings think about you, and what the society thinks of you in general.

This leverage will allow you to develop your game to the maximum potential and become obsessed with the ‘right’ thing to do instead of worrying what consequences it might bring.

5) You’ll unlock the ability to leverage your position more often

Think of developing your critical thinking skills as a tiered approach.

At the lowest tier of critical thinking, you develop a strong sense of right and wrong.

And the highest tier of critical thinking, you can do whatever you want keeping the rights and wrongs in mind – with maximum leverage!

And as Archimedes once said:

Give me a ‘lever’ long enough and a fulcrum on which to place it, and I will move the world.

– Archimedes

This ‘lever’ of Archimedes can be thought of as both physical and metaphorical.

In our example, the physical leverage is having wealth of information (knowledge) and money (currency).

Whereas the metaphorical leverage is having moral high ground and the ability to think fast and act fast.

As you might’ve already come to the conclusion that critical thinking skills are of vital importance for, we want you to take a minute and absorb all that information.

Think about what it means to be able to leverage yourself in a brutally competitive world and what contributions you might be able to bring to the table.

Critically thinking in the past, present, and future

In the past, you may not have been aware of your critical thinking skills to a large extent, but that’s fine.

Because you can easily develop these skills in your present by (obviously) starting now.

By starting now, and committing yourself to developing such an essential life skill will make you appreciate life more and would make it infinitely easier to move around the world on pure and righteous intentions.

The future represents your potential and what you can do to develop it further.

You can always do certain things easier and more effectively than you did in the past, but keep in mind that the simplest solutions are often the best ones.

Having said that, these “simple” solutions might not be so easy to implement and that’s where your critical thinking skills come in handy.

What you’ll need to do in the next few hours in order to develop these skills:

  • Join a critical-think club or study
  • Take inventory of everything that you own and what you want to do with it all
  • Take a mental inventory of everything that you need in order to start building your life around leverage
  • Develop the ability to think critically by reading books on the subject matter and developing your curiosity
  • Develop a taste for knowledge and taking up small-yet-doable projects which can help you develop your skills further

As you can see, this is not a complicated process.

It starts in the mind and then glosses over the physical aspect of what you need to do in order to become a critical thinker.

When you start you’ll find yourself often balking at the fact that you didn’t do this sooner, but that’s okay because that’s how you live and grow.

How to bring peace to the planet Earth

peace on planet Earth

Bringing peace to planet Earth

Through patience, knowledge, and forbearing

There are many ways we can look at this problem.

Many ways to dissect the nuance of what goes into making ‘peace’ a reality for every living being on this planet.

But the fact of the matter is, that we can only employ some of these things at a time.

We can’t rush forward too fast – risking chaos and loss of valuable lives.

Neither can we keep pace too slow – risking inaction and yet still the loss of valuable lives.

Realistically, we’re left with only the third option which is to keep up a medium pace.

That which allows us to do things fast but not too fast, and slow but not too slow at the same time.

The way to bringing peace on planet Earth through forbearance

To truly understand who or what you’re competing against, you have to understand a few things before putting skin in the game.

The most important aspect of working towards peace is through forbearance, but also through:

  • Fortitude
  • Resilience
  • Attention
  • Focus
  • Knowing
  • Learning
  • Action

Think of whatever it is that you’re going to do something that you have to take into consideration on a level that’s in harmony with the amount of knowledge you already have.

Meaning that you can’t overshoot based on whatever knowledge you already have.

For instance, you’re not going to take on a world champion boxer just because you ‘think’ that you can box better than him/her.

You have to train diligently, with focus and determination – putting everything you have in your own game instead of looking out for your opponent.

Your adversary will do exactly what they’re supposed to do: try to beat you down.

They hate you for a reason: you challenge their game, you challenge their mental fortitude and you challenge their championship.

Make no mistake, you will get the beatdown of your life if you started going after your enemy after one lesson in boxing.

But given enough time and learning, you’ll eventually come out on top.

The key is to focus on your own game.

Similarly, you can think about what the society already is like and what are they doing that will place hurdles in your way to success.

Are you merely going to focus on the fact that society will put hurdles in front of you?

Or will you focus on what you are supposed to do and counter anything that the society can throw at you?

First and foremost, have a goal in mind.

What are you trying to achieve?

Is it world peace?

Okay, then my question to you would be: “how do you achieve world peace?”

There are literally infinite possible ways of doing this, and you know that you can’t focus on all of them.

So, naturally, you would have to focus on a limited set of these in order to achieve a large part of your goal.

If you don’t have money, then can you get money? And if not, what other routes can you take to bring peace around in your community?

If you don’t have a wealth of knowledge, then you can get it? And if not (well, first of all, may God help you!), what route should you take to get this knowledge?

Forbearance is your biggest ally in your quest to bringing peace on planet Earth.

And to achieve that, you must first go through the motions that TEACH you humbleness and righteousness.

Humility and righteousness are learned not given!

Having patience and resilience to come through just in time!

Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day; teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime

– Anna Isabella Thackeray Ritchie

You must treat your inner self as the person who doesn’t know what they’re doing.

Keeping this fact in mind, you have to become humble enough to learn from the masters.

And then apply that which you’ve learned through relentless practice and vigor until it becomes second nature to you.

Allah never changes the condition of a people, until they change that which is within themselves…

– Surah Al-Anfal (Chapter 8, Verse 30)

Self-discipline and the willingness to be a student will keep you relevant and fresh forever.

Just as life is an unending game of survival, thriving, and learning; so too is the fact that you must be willing to do this day in and day out.

No matter how badly beat up you get, no matter how much bruised up you get, you have to get up and come up with new ways to succeed.

And eventually, when the time is right, and you’ve practiced and learned enough…things will start to happen your way.

Keeping in the lesson of the Koran that those who follow their own inner desires according to how they want to follow them will never succeed…

Whereas the ones who follow their desires according to how Allah has ordained for them will always find success.

O, ye who have believed! Then follow your desires according to what Allah has given you, and not let your mortal enemy dissuade you from the straight path.

The mortal enemy is Shaitan (Satan) and the straight path is the path without ambiguity, confusion, or mental degeneracy.

Stick to your guns and don’t let the whispers of doubt and rebellion take hold in your mind.

Recognize this as a ploy of the most wicked and the accursed and calm your nerves, knowing that you’ll find Allah most merciful and gracious.

The more resilience you build, the more blows you can take, and the harder you’re defeated; the more chances of winning you get.

There’s always going to be someone somewhere in the world who’s training harder than you, while you’re sleeping.

And if you face that person in combat, he/she will beat you in the field.

The more you train, the harder it will become for the other person to take you down with one shot.

But if you party all week, watch television, and play video games, then know that your adversary will win every battle.

You pick your own enemies and you pick your own fights, but their outcome entirely depends on your preparedness.

The more prepared you are, the more chances of squaring off or even winning you have.

In life, those who play the long game know it very well that sometimes they’re ahead and sometimes they’re behind.

They’re not fazed by temporary defeats or soothing victories.

They move on to the next task and complete it as efficiently as they can.

World peace – achieved!

We don’t know when complete peace will be achieved, it’s way too early to tell.

But given enough time, outcomes and consistent results – we’ll know how long peace lasts.

There’s always going to be some friction in the world.

Some nuance that you missed and your enemies picked up on.

The more you show weakness and capitulation, the more violence your enemies can commit against you.

Therefore, the best thing you can ever do for yourself or for those you love is to strengthen yourself.

Strengthen your resolve to deter and counter any moves by rogue, rebellious or adversarial forces which seek to demolish you.

In all circumstances, you must focus on what you are going to do next, instead of focusing on your enemy.

The reactionary game must stop!

You can’t keep reacting to what happens in the world. That’s literally what mentally retarded people do!

Mentally healthy people anticipate their own moves and then act accordingly to what they themselves are going to do.

Not what someone else is going to do to them.

Hence, world peace on planet Earth can be achieved not through more violence or rabid reactionary reflex that we often get to see in the 99%…

But rather by slowing down our thoughts, focusing them on one point in our life and humbling ourselves enough to learn from our masters.

Make no mistake you WILL have more than one master, and the sum of their parts must be greater than the whole – YOU.

Diplomatic approach and 3 ways to avoid being defeated

pen is the symbol of diplomacy and education

How to be diplomatic and avoid being defeated

Let’s start at the very foremost thing.

That’s your fear, your insanity, the quitter within you who keeps coming back to haunt you for whatever reason it sees fit.

You need to be able to fight this. How effectively you’re able to fight it will determine your success ratios.

Think of this world, this life – this process as a living piece of art.

Sun Tzu titled his book ‘The Art of War’ for a good reason!

It’s the ART of war, the ART of painting a beautiful picture with the paintbrush of your life – the ART of life itself.

You can’t ignore this fact and you certainly can’t avoid it.

For you to be able to paint that picture, you need to have/go through some realizations in life.

I’m not going to tell you what they are because I don’t know what they might be for your individual case.

I can only reveal to you a certain path that you can take to make those realizations.

Yet, most people will not do it.

I don’t know anything about how diplomats conduct their business on a daily basis.

But I do know that they have ‘the’ magic formula to get it done.

And that magic formula is being patiently impatient.

Meaning that you consistently go after that which you’re very impatient about – in a diplomatic and subtle way.

Think of getting what you want from others as a beautiful exercise of collaboration, ebb, and flow, energetic and dull phases…

And only engage in a full out war if nothing else works, and everything systematically fails you.

When your skills to communicate fail you, you have to realize that it’s no longer you, it’s the person you’re trying to interact with who’s the problem.

And that moment, and only at that moment are you allowed to chuck your nuclear weapon at them.

What it means to be diplomatic

Most people think of diplomats as being people who speak with forked tongues.

In fact, the reality is that they’re combining a beautiful symphony of words and colloquial which help establish them as a socialite and likable personality.

Believe me when I say this: you don’t like to talk to someone you don’t like, whereas you’ll always be excited to talk to someone you really, really like!

Think of an example of media persons, actors, actresses, singers etc. would you want to talk to them in a boisterous and loud tone?

I highly doubt it.

You’ll lower your wing to them so that they may recognize you and maybe even be gracious enough to take you under their wing.

Isn’t that true about yourself and those around you who admire celebrities and people of immense wealth?

Now then, can we not easily draw a comparison between them and how the diplomats of a country interact with those of another?

Of course! Hence, we can conclude that those with superior etiquettes, social skills, and communion will always come out on top in almost every situation.

So then why don’t we ever learn from our diplomat friends? Make some of them our mentors and get them to teach us how to talk, and how to walk?

Most people don’t do it because of the size of their ego and why they don’t want to seem small or appear insignificant in front of others.

This whole image thing has gotten way out of hand, and I feel like this will take some real work to reverse.

However, if the astute reader is willing to put in the effort to seek out such people and learn from them what you can, then I can see the world morphing into a better and peaceful place.

Diplomats in effect prevent many wars and conflicts.

But should their skill fails them, their entire nation has to have their backs when it comes down to war.

For instance, if a Pakistani diplomat is on a mission abroad to build a positive image of Pakistan, then the government and the nation itself has to work hard in order to make the illusion of grandeur no longer an illusion but something that’s real, simple, and wonderful.

I’m sure you can reach this conclusion by yourself, but I’ll say it again: diplomacy is an art that’s the most important aspect of your life.

The more skillful your diplomacy is, the better result you’ll get from every area of your life.

It’s okay to let it go once in a while and scream on top of your lungs and curse and spite the world – but do it alone in your own room where no one can hear you…or even if someone is hearing you, they’re your closest confidant, not someone who’ll betray you at the slightest hint of vulnerability on your part.

Simplistic ideas with major results

Ideas that are simple to implement are often the ones that get us best results.

Then why not embrace that aspect of your life?

You can easily make things complicated.

But in order to do that you always have to start simple.

You start at a point where life is simple enough to be recognized from a mile away.

Your movements will be clearly visible to everyone.

But the moment you start to make it complicated by hiding and taking cover, you’ll make things harder for people who want to try and read you.

Let’s look at what you can do to put yourself in an advantageous position 99.99% of the time.

1) Always find cover and stay hidden

The number one thing I’ve learned by talking to veterans and asking questions about their life is: take cover or die!

There’s no such thing as being bulletproof…it may have been true some 350 years ago, but with the invention of the rifle, this is not true anymore.

You can’t face your enemy head on unless you have a real death wish.

It’s the same thing in civilian life: the moment your movements are tracked, you’ll see your enemy coming at you with full speed while taking you out.

You can’t allow that. You can’t think that your enemy is weaker than you.

In fact, in most circumstances, your enemy will be a lot stronger than you are.

That’s why guns, nukes, and unarmed combat techniques exist.

Drawing on this analogy of war, we can apply it to other areas of life as well.

For instance, in business, if your opponent knows that you’re doing something that’ll potentially hurt their business, they’ll see it coming a mile away.

And as soon as they feel threatened, they’ll develop a counter to what you’re eventually going to do.

So, in order to keep your enemy guessing, build on “take cover or die” and keep your head as low as possible.

2) Mitigate loss by effectively keeping your eyes on the goal

Whatever your goal in life maybe you have to keep an eye on it at all times.

Let’s take an example from the company named Apple

I’m using this example because it’s easy to understand and I can effectively get my point across to most people (and also to borrow Simon Sinek’s words).

Apple has been a company known for its innovation and sleek designs in all of its electronics; they do this by effectively keeping an eye on the prize.

What’s that prize? How to innovate and make products that can help people do a certain thing.

For instance, how to help teachers teach and students to learn.

Contrast that with other companies who are consistently trying to beat their competition; i.e. Apple.

[These are completely profit driven]

They don’t concentrate on making their products the best that they can be, instead, they often copy off of Apple’s design and make it into a benchmark.

And for good reason, Apple is focused on playing the long-term game whereas their competitors are looking to outdo them in the short-term.

Of course, the one playing the long-term game will eventually come out on top!

Why you ask?

Because the more you stretch out a number of resources and time available to play this game, the more opportunities you have to frustrate and weaken your enemy.

Do this until your enemy can no longer muster another attack against you; then you can easily win the situation without much resistance or losing too many assets.

3) Search and destroy

If you’ve ever noticed how the big corporations operate, you’ll come to understand a common theme in their mode(s) of operation.

They acquire any small businesses early on that have the potential to threaten their business and make it an integral part of their strategy to grow faster and bigger.

Google’s acquisition of YouTube and Facebook’s acquisition of WhatsApp is a fine example of how these acts are performed.

Google saw the potential of searching up tutorials via the use of videos and immediately acquired YouTube in order to stay ahead of the game.

Whereas Facebook acquired WhatsApp in order to keep an edge in the texting and communication world.

Both the companies follow a simple rule laid out in the Art of Warnever let your enemy gain an upper hand.

There’s always something that you can do to mitigate risk and counter your opponents’ move(s).

Always remember, that the moment you cease to learn is the moment you cease to exist.

In order to keep yourself relevant in the game, you need to learn faster because there’s always room for improvement.

If Indians are attacking 3 of our provinces via a proxy war (namely: KPK, Balochistan, and Kashmir) then it’s in your best interest to counter this move with something more powerful and that which the enemy doesn’t expect.

I don’t need to lay out those plans for you, as most of you already understand what needs to be done in order to keep the enemy at bay.

But most of you won’t ever get to live up to your full potential because of the fact that you refuse to learn!

And that you refuse to act in a morally righteous and humble way.

Saying that you’re humble doesn’t make you humble, your actions and interactions with other people make them apparent so.

The most humble and curious will survive the long-term game of life – when they play their cards right.

Conclusion and what’s next…

So, we have looked at how diplomacy can literally change your life.

We’ve also looked at the fact that life itself should be treated like a mosaic or painting that’s worked on slowly and with masterful strokes.

Not every situation will be ideal or favorable to you in any way.

This is evident when we think about what might happen to the brush when we paint with it.

Perhaps having too much paint will get the brush too clogged up to use and we won’t be able to paint with it any longer.

This is similar to how some things in life work better than others, and how some things should always evolve in order to keep their relevancy in your tool kit.

For instance, the automobile is not going anywhere given the astronomical increase in transportation and human population densities.

However, by the same token horses and other animals that were used for transportation are no longer relevant.

Though they exist in the background and live their lives as they would, they cannot be used as a method of transportation ever again.

Similarly, diplomacy is an evergreen asset in your arsenal. One that would never grow old or die.

Because its need is perpetual and effervescent.

It doesn’t fade nor does it require cease of all human interaction.

Because humans will always interact with each other regardless of what happens, this skill will always be needed – no matter what happens a million years from now!

Unless of course, the entire solar system goes “ka-blewie” there’s no way that life on Earth for humans will ever cease to exist.

In order to paint this painting of life in a most effective and sustainable manner, you must look to mentors who have already drawn on their canvas with brilliant resolve.

Learn what tools they use for their life and even borrow some if at all possible.

But if you can’t, then make up your own; in order for you to do that, you must have inspiration and insight from other successful human beings.

What’s next…?

Slow down your thoughts, focus your mind and reflect on the type of stroke that will give you the best advantage in the present situation.

And then act! Make that stroke on your canvas making sure that you won’t regret making it.

Live every day as though you need to make your painting as beautiful and as lively as possible.
